Ruaha National Park Wildlife Health Lab is underway!

The HALI team is happy to report from Tanzania that repairs needed to upgrade a building that will house Ruaha National Park’s wildlife health lab have begun. Through a grant from the United States Fish and Wildlife Service Wildlife Without Borders Program (USFWS – WWB), HALI and Ruaha National Park have teamed up to create a laboratory so that the park veterinarian and visiting researchers have a facility in which to conduct their work. The park has donated a space for the lab and the USFWS-WWB grant has provided the critical funds needed to upgrade the space and purchase basic lab supplies.  We’ll post some pictures of Ruaha veterinarians and ecologists working the lab when it is in-action!
